La seda salvaje es muy diferente al Ponge/Habotai, que es lo que habitualmente pinto. No tiene brillo practicamente, es más tosca y tiene nudos en la superficie, además de ser más pesada y más rígida. Aun así, es bastante más cara.
La he pintado igual que pinto el habotai, haciendo el diseño a mano alzada con guta y una vez seca, pintando con tinte ligeramente diluido con agua.
La guta tarda más en secarse y a mi me ha costado más ver las lineas a la hora de pintar. El tinte también tarda más en secarse y al tener una superficie irregular, en las zonas donde hay nudo el color del tinte también queda irregular.
El resultado es bonito, pero a la hora de pintar, personalmente prefiero el Ponge/Habotai con diferencia, tal vez porque es a lo que estoy acostumbrada.

A while ago I was given a piece of wild silk as a gift, but I hadn´t decide to paint it up until now.
Wild silk is very different to Ponge/Habotai, which is what I usually paint. It almost doesn´t have a sheen, it´s cruder and it has knots on the surface. It is also heavier and stiffer. Even then, it is a good bit more expensive.
I have painted it the same way I paint habotai, drawing the design freehand with gutta and once dried, painting it with slighty diluted dye.
The gutta takes longer to dry up and it´s harder to see the lines when you start painting. The dye also takes longer to dry up and as it has an irregular surface, the colour is also irregular on the knotted areas.
The result is nice, but I definitely rather paint ponge/habotai, maybe because it is what I´m used to.
